STUDENT INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

District 19 Community Services Board (D19 CSB) welcomes the opportunity to provide
student internship placements.
MISSION
The student internship mission of the District 19 Community Services Board (D19 CSB) is to work in partnership with Institutions of Higher Education (IHE) in offering Central and Southside Virginia area students supervised opportunities for hands-on experiences in the delivery of community-based services to Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse consumers in District 19. The discipline of Prevention Services is also available to students.
LIAISON/COORDINATION WITH IHE
District 19 has a Student Internship Committee, which is the vehicle through which all D19 CSB student interns are placed. The Committee has a representative from each disability area appointed by the Disability Directors. The Committee serves as the contact for IHEs. All student referrals must come through the IHEs' internship placement offices. Direct requests for placements by students will not be processed, as this would bypass the role of the IHE in this collaborative effort.
If you are a student or a faculty member of an IHE and are interested in learning more about our Internship Program you may contact Laura Kuchinsky
