District 19 Community Services Board Petersburg Clinic is offering a great opportunity for a full time therapist for the Substance Abuse/Outpatient Program. Essential job duties of this position include: conducting screenings, orientations, intakes, assessments and individual therapy to consumers as well as facilitating the evening intensive outpatient group program. In addition staff will be responsible for conducting substance abuse evaluations and writing clinical reports for individuals who are referred by the court services and other organizations. The incumbent must have knowledge of mental health/co-occurring behaviors, experience in diagnosing substance use disorders and excellent written and verbal skills. In addition the incumbent must adhere to confidentiality policies and maintain professional boundaries.

Successful applicant must have: Masters Degree in human services, or a Bachelor degree with a CSAC, CAC or equivalent, at least 2 years experience providing substance abuse group and individual counseling and flexibility to work at least two evenings per week. Preferred qualifications include: experience in providing crisis counseling and counseling to individuals involved with the criminal justice system and experience writing clinical reports.

District 19 Infant Intervention Program in Petersburg is seeking a qualified professional to assume the responsibilities of Infant Service Coordinator. Successful applicant must have: Bachelor’s degree in human services or education fields. Position Title: Jail Diversion Coordinator

District 19 Community Services Board, located in Petersburg Virginia, is seeking a professional for the newly formed, grant funded, hourly position of Jail Diversion Coordinator. Essential job duties of the position include the ability to plan and organize new programming to include the development of a regional crisis assessment/drop off center to facilitate the diversion of the nonviolent mentally ill from the criminal justice system. Other duties include: supervising the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program that currently provides training to the law enforcement agencies within Planning District 19; providing education and networking to the stakeholders within the criminal justice system within Planning District 19; organizing stakeholder meetings, and; developing funding streams to ensure the continuation of jail diversion programming through new grants and increased contributions from supporting Local, State, and Federal funding agencies.

Preferred applicant shall have a 4-year college degree with preferred major in Criminal Justice or Education, or an equivalent combination of experience and education, and demonstrated ability to successfully develop new programming, develop new funding streams, and administer grants. Actual Law Enforcement Experience is preferred. Successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills, and be proficient in producing documents within Microsoft Word and Excel .

This is a grant funded hourly position, which offers the ability to work a flexible 4 day work week with up to 40 hours per week. Hiring Range shall be between $23/hr and $32/hr based on experience and demonstrated abilities. District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a PRN professional for the Mental Health Psychosocial Day Program in Emporia, Virginia. Essential duties for this position include: working with a team of Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs); assisting mentally ill adults with increasing independent living skills; providing psycho-educational group facilitation; and providing transportation during community integration activities and community outings.

Successful applicants must have: qualifications to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), ability to work a flexible schedule during weekdays and some weekends, as needed. Prefer experience in a mental health setting, facilitating psycho-educational groups, supervising pre-vocational skill building activities; knowledge of Medicaid documentation related to service delivery and familiar with Medicaid and licensure requirements.

Essential job duties include: providing telephone and face-to-face support to consumers in early recovery, linkage and referral to community resources, and recovery support to include transportation services by an agency vehicle.

Successful applicant must have: high school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of sustained recovery from addiction, active in a recovery program, ability to work flexible afternoon and evening hours and possess good basic computer skills. Incumbent must adhere to confidentiality policies and maintain professional boundary between self and consumer. Preferred applicant will live in the Hopewell/Prince George area. Position works 20 hours per week, and hours will vary based on program needs.

District 19 is seeking a qualified applicant to provide mental health residential support services to individuals with serious mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities to adults living in their own homes. Essential job duties of this position include: provision of training in medication management, community integration, budgeting, and health and safety. The applicant will be responsible for the development, revision and implementation of Individual Service Plans.

Successful applicant must have: Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) qualifications and have minimum of one-year experience working with consumers with mental illness; possess basic computer/keyboarding skills. Prefer documentation experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation. Hours are typically Monday through Friday, but may require weekends and evenings as individual consumer needs may dictate.

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a part time experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide and deliver community based nursing services in the cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Emporia, and the counties of Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Surry , and Sussex.

Essential job duties include: strong medical/psych nursing assessment skills, medication administration, knowledge of psychotropic medications, coordination of care, referrals to outside agencies, assist with admissions, provide crisis intervention, and documentation in medical records.

Successful applicant must have: graduate of accredited school of nursing with A.S.N. or diploma in nursing; valid Virginia license to practice as a Registered Nurse, and basic computer skills. Prefer experience in a community or inpatient setting; phlebotomy skills, experience as part of a multi-disciplinary team working with SMI/dual diagnosed consumers, and current CPR certification.

Essential job duties include: crisis intervention and stabilization, pre-screenings, representation of CSB at involuntary commitment hearings, discharge planning and short term counseling.

Successful applicants must have: master’s degree in human services; experience in working with children and adolescents with mental health, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders in a mental health setting; knowledge of the Virginia Code as it relates to temporary detentions and involuntary commitments; skills in assessment and diagnosis.
