District 19 Community Services Board has an opportunity for a full time position providing mental health case management services to adults at the Dinwiddie clinic. Essential job duties of this position include: establishing and executing treatment plans, monitoring and linking consumers to identified resources, clinical evaluation, completing intakes and chart management/case management functions as well as use of an electronic records system.

Successful applicant must have: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Services;   demonstrated experience proving case management services to consumers with mental health disorders; experience in writing treatment plans; acceptable written skills and basic computer skills (Word, Excel). Position Title: HR Associate II

District 19 Community Services Board is offering an hourly position as a part time Human Resources Associate.  Essential job duties of this position are to provide administrative, organizational, and secretarial support while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. Incumbent will be exposed to and gain experience in various areas of human resources. This position requires being able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; setting priorities; and maintaining a high level of confidentiality of personnel issues.  Position may assist in many areas of HR including, but not limited to recruitment, benefits, new hires, data entry and manipulation, receptionist coverage, and maintaining files which may include lifting of storage boxes.

Minimum required qualifications for this position include:  High school graduate or equivalent.  Experience with computer skills in word processing, data entry, data manipulation and verification; filing systems; office practices; reimbursement policy and procedures; in MH/SA office environment.

Position Title: Qualified Mental Health Professional

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a professional for the Sycamore Center Psychosocial Day Program.  Essential duties for this position include:  working with a team of Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP); assisting mentally ill adults with daily living skill building activities and psycho-educational group facilitation in a structured setting.  QMHP will provide social and educational activities and occasional van transportation for community integration.

Position Title: Crisis Assessment Center Coordinator

District 19 Community Services Board, located in historic Petersburg, VA, is seeking a highly motivated self starter to become the full-time Crisis Assessment Center Coordinator for a grant funded program. Crisis Assessment Center is a jail diversion program designed to improve the outcomes of police interactions and reduce instances of hospitalization among people with mental illnesses.  Successful incumbent must have proven organizational along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

Minimum required qualifications for this position include:   Master’s degree with a major course of study in Human Services required (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Nursing) or Masters Degree with equivalent course credits in Human Services. The degree should be acceptable by the Virginia Department on Health Professionals as a sufficient Master’s degree to allow licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioner, or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Certification as a Preadmission Screening Evaluator is required.  Licensed counselor preferred.  Preferred candidates will have experience with law enforcement, developing and training professionals, and a general knowledge Crisis Intervention Training (CIT).  A bilingual (English/Spanish) applicant is preferred.

Position Title: Crisis Stabilization Office Associate II

(D19-14-986) District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a regular hourly position to provide receptionist/secretarial/reimbursement support to the Crisis Stabilization program.  Essential job duties of this position include: receiving and screening calls and visitors, typing, data entry, and reimbursement/billing.  Ability to relate to people in crisis and general public. Ability to work independently with supervisory back-up. Position Title: Peer Support Specialist (3 positions)

District 19 Community Services Board, is seeking 3 highly motivated self-starters to become a full-time Peer Specialists.  One of these positions will require traveling between an office in Hopewell and Dinwiddie.  One will operate out of Petersburg, but serve the entire D19 CSB service area.  The other position will be stationed in downtown Petersburg.  The successful incumbent must have proven organizational, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum required qualifications for this position include: High School diploma or GED,  experience as a consumer of mental health or substance abuse services, must have at least 12 consecutive months of sobriety or drug free (if substance abuse diagnosis exists); at least 12 consecutive months of success within personal recovery.  No less than 500 paid and or volunteer hours within the preceding year providing recovery related activities to consumers with mental illness. Candidate must have proficient computer skills, experience in record keeping/report completion and proficient scheduling/time management skills. Preference in given to those who have within the past three years completed a DBHDS recognized Peer Specialist curriculum/program.  This curriculum/program should have included no less than ninety (90) hours of training that covered the areas of content for peer support recommended by DBHDS.  Content areas should speak to peer services within both the mental health and substance abuse disorder context.  Twenty five of those 90 hours should have involved experiential learning. 

Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Requires flexibility based on programmatic need.

Position Title: Mental Health Skill Building Provider

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a full time Residential Assistant responsible for supervising a 24 bed residential program serving adults with mental illness.

Successful applicant must have:  Bachelor’s degree in human services field or ten years of experience working with adults diagnosed with mental illness; knowledge and demonstrated experience in supervising clinical and direct support personnel, experience managing a residential facility and coordinating assessments and intakes.  Candidate should be skilled in staff supervision, program development and implementation; have experience facilitating crisis situations and leading teams. Position Title: Substance Abuse Therapist (Licensed)

District 19 Community Services Board, located in Old Towne Petersburg, is seeking a full time licensed therapist to provide outpatient substance abuse therapy to children and adolescents.  The incumbent will be responsible for outpatient therapy to children and adolescents throughout the D19 catchment area.  Essential job duties include providing individual, group and family therapy; and completing documentation per Medicaid standards.

Successful applicant must have a minimum of one year clinical experience with children and adolescents; at least one year experience providing substance abuse treatment; a professional license (LPC, LCSW, LCP); knowledge of behavioral health, diagnostic criteria and assessment abilities; basic computer skills and experience using other office equipment.

Preferred qualifications include experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents, experience providing individual and group therapy, strong knowledge of child mental health issues and diagnosis, crisis intervention experience, CSAC, and experience with electronic health records. Position Title: Crisis Stabilization Provider

District 19 Community Services Board is offering a PRN position for a Crisis Stabilization Provider to provide short-term crisis stabilization to adults throughout the D19 service areas.  Essential duties of this position are: crisis interventions to stabilize psychiatric conditions, problem solving to prevent escalation of psychiatric symptoms, assist in returning consumer to pre-crisis state or better, collaboration with treatment staff and clinical documentation.

Successful applicant must have: Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field with at least 15 credits of human service or a Registered Nurse, experience working with adults with an SMI diagnosis; experience working with consumers experiencing a MH Crisis, experience with clinical record documentation and basic computer skills. Preferred qualification: familiarity with local resources. A bilingual candidate (English/Spanish) is preferred.

Position offers PRN flexible hours Monday through Sunday as needed.

Position above requires a valid VA Driver’s License with a point balance of -6 or higher, pre-employment extensive background checks and drug screening.

Starting salary is commensurate with experience/training.

District 19 Community Services Board, located in historic Petersburg, VA, is seeking a highly motivated self starter to become the Crisis Intervention Provider for a new grant funded position.  The Crisis Assessment Center located in the City of Hopewell, is a jail diversion program designed to improve the outcomes of police interactions and reduce instances of hospitalization among people with mental illnesses.  Required worked hours include week nights, weekends and holidays.

Minimum required qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in human services, experience providing crisis intervention and experience with treatment of substance abuse disorders.  Skilled in providing emergency/crisis intervention services; completing psycho-social evaluations; maintaining case work documentation; coordinating services for the mentally ill; providing mental health consultation and education services.  Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel Software

Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in a human services field, Certified Pre-admission Screening Evaluator (CP).  Preferred candidates will have experience with law enforcement and a general knowledge of Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). A bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate is preferred.

Starting salary is commensurate with experience and training. Position status is PRN (as needed).
