Position Title: Crisis Intervention Provider

(#D19-15-997) District 19 Community Services Board, located in historic Petersburg, VA, is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to become the full-time Crisis Intervention Provider.  The Crisis Assessment Center is a jail diversion program designed to improve the outcomes of police interactions and reduce instances of hospitalization among people with people with mental illnesses.  Successful incumbent must have proven organizational along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

Minimum required qualifications for this position include:  Master’s degree with a major course of study in Human Services required (e.g., social work, gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, and human services counseling) or Nursing, or Master’s Degree with equivalent course credits in Human Services. The degree should be acceptable by the Virginia Department on Health Professionals as a sufficient Master’s degree to allow licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioner, or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Certification as a Preadmission Screening Evaluator is required within 30 days of employment.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills; demonstrated experience in clinical record keeping, and minimum one year experience with SMI population.  Must meet the qualifications of a Qualified Mental Health Provider.

Preferred candidates will have experience with law enforcement, developing and training professionals, case management experience for co-occurring population, completing psycho-social evaluations, experience working with adults and children in a mental health setting, and a general knowledge Crisis Intervention Training (CIT).  Licensed counselor preferred.

Hours are Monday-Friday 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  Some weekend and holiday hours may be required.  Requires flexibility based on programmatic need.

Position Title: Therapist-Licensed

(D19-15-998/999) District 19 Community Services Board, located in Old Towne Petersburg, is seeking (2) part-time licensed therapist to provide outpatient substance abuse therapy to children and adolescents.  The incumbent will be responsible for outpatient therapy to children and adolescents throughout the D19 catchment area.  Essential job duties include providing individual, group and family therapy; and completing documentation per Medicaid standards.

Successful applicant must have a minimum of one year clinical experience with children and adolescents; at least one year experience providing substance abuse treatment; a professional license (LPC, LCSW, LCP); knowledge of behavioral health, diagnostic criteria and assessment abilities; basic computer skills and experience using other office equipment.

Preferred qualifications include experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents, experience providing individual and group therapy, strong knowledge of child mental health issues and diagnosis, crisis intervention experience, CSAC, and experience with electronic health records. (#D19-14-827) District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a qualified candidate to conduct assessments for individuals seeking Mental Health Skill Building Services within a supervised living setting in Dinwiddie County. Essential duties of this position include: conducting and documenting of assessments, communicating effectively with consumers and employees and submitting required reports within established time line.

Successful applicant must have a Master’s degree in human services or a related field, be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (i.e. LPC, LCSW), have experience working with consumers with mental health illness; have computer skills, word processing and familiarity with basic office equipment. Position Title: PACT Nurse

(D19-14-840) District 19 CSB is seeking a Registered Nurse to function as a member of an interdisciplinary PACT (Program of Assertive Community Treatment) team that serves adults with severe and persistent mental illness in the Petersburg/Tri Cities area.  Position provides community-based psychiatric treatment, medication delivery, medication education and monitoring activities, daily living assistance, injections, and family support and education. 

Successful applicant must have:   RN License, at least one year experience in provision of services to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses; flexibility to work some evenings and weekends (weekends with extra pay), proficiency with computers, experience with documentation according to established rules and regulations and have the ability to work as a team member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.  Prefer experience in the provision of services in community settings to include consumer residence and experience with electronic records.

Position Title: Payroll Accountant

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a full time Payroll Accountant to conduct daily operation of payroll as well as quarterly and annual payroll reports.  Essential duties of this position include:  preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll for staff of over 250 salaried and wage employees, reconciliation and payment of health insurance, retirement and other fringe benefits, maintenance of agency leave records and monitoring compliance with Human Resources Policy and Procedure.

District 19 Community Services Board is offering a PRN position for a Crisis Stabilization Provider to provide short-term crisis stabilization to adults throughout the D19 service areas.  Essential duties of this position are: crisis interventions to stabilize psychiatric conditions, problem solving to prevent escalation of psychiatric symptoms, assist in returning consumer to pre-crisis state or better, collaboration with treatment staff and clinical documentation.

Successful applicant must have: Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field with at least 15 credits of human service or a Registered Nurse, experience working with adults with an SMI diagnosis; experience working with consumers experiencing a MH Crisis, experience with clinical record documentation and basic computer skills. District 19 Community Services Board is seeking experienced master’s level clinicians to provide emergency services to children and adults in nine D19 service locations and/or in the Crisis Assessment Center located in the City of Hopewell.  Essential job duties include:  crisis intervention and stabilization, pre-screenings, representation of CSB at involuntary commitment hearings, discharge planning and short term counseling.

Successful applicants must have:  Master’s degree in human services; experience working with people with mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance use disorders in a mental health setting; knowledge of the Virginia Code as it relates to temporary detentions and involuntary commitments; skills in assessment and diagnosis of SA and MH, certification as a Preadmission Screening Evaluator and experience with electronic health records system.
