District 19 Mental Retardation and Residential Services currently offers the following array of services, but is constantly seeking ways to expand and better meet the needs of consumers with Mental Retardation and Mental Health issues.
Infant Intervention Services

The Infant Intervention Program provides early intervention services to infants
and toddlers (birth to three) and their families who live in the District
19 area. Children are eligible for services if they exhibit a developmental
delay in any skill area (physical, emotional, sensory, cognitive, communicative,
etc.); if they exhibit atypical behavior; or if they have a diagnosed condition
that has a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay (e.g., Downs
Syndrome, prenatal substance exposure, etc.). Monitoring is available for
children who are not eligible for services but are at high risk for developmental
delay. Most services are provided in the child's natural environment (usually
the home).

Mental Retardation Case Management is the central point of entry into District
19 Mental Retardation Services and provides assessment, guidance, referrals,
follow along and coordination of services for persons with mental retardation.
Case managers promote the pursuit of individual choice, personal growth, and
community integration. Information is provided regarding support services
available, MR Home and Community Based Waiver services, and other ancillary
services provided through public and private service providers. Based on the
outcome of the intake process and individual choice, linkage to the following
services may occur:

District 19 MR Residential Services provides an array of residential services
to meet individual support needs. Services range from 24 hour supervised living
arrangements to individual in-home services. Services are available to persons
with mental retardation throughout District 19, either directly by District
19 or through contract with private vendors. Residential supports are designed
to meet the individual consumer needs in the areas of : self care skills,
academic skills, social skills, community skills, housekeeping skills, leisure/recreational
skills, etc. Residential services are coordinated with other services for
continuity and maximum consumer achievement. Residential services are accessed
through MR Case Management.

meet the individual consumer needs in the areas of: self care, academic skills,

budgeting, leisure/recreational skills, etc. Residential services are coordinated
with other services for continuity and maximum consumer achievement. Residential
supports are access through District 19 Mental Health Case Management.
